Utley Gets 7 Years, $85 Million From Phils

Chase Utley and the Phillies have agreed upon a 7 year, $85 million dollar contract to avoid arbitration. Utley is one of the top second basemen in all of baseball and the deal is great for the Phillies because Utley would command more money if they went the arbitration route. Chase hit .379 with 32 homers and drove in 102 last season and he also had a 35-game hit streak (6/4-8/23). The deal keeps him a Philly through 2013.
