MLB.com and ESPN.com are both reporting that Mark Mulder and the St. Louis Cardinals have agreed to a two-year, $13 million dollar deal with an option for 2009. Mulder, who went 6-7 with a 7.14ERA in 17 starts in 2006, underwent shoulder surgery in September probably won't be ready by Opening Day and a time table hasn't been set for a return. If Mulder returns to form and makes 30 starts the deal will increase to 3yr/$45mil. Also St. Louis inked P Ryan Franklin to a one year deal. OF Rick (I'm trying to recover from Steve Blass disease) Ankiel and UTIL Jolbert Cabrera were also signed to minor league deals with an invitation to spring training.
